About Us

In my years as a young stock agent in Western Queensland, I learned about cattle prices, how to auction to a crowd, and gained the gift of the gab. I’ve since passed through several careers and industries, but one constant has been my love of organising events, where I no longer keeps up with the livestock market, but my auction skills and ability to talk to anyone and everyone have come in handy.

I first dipped my toes in the world of events in 1998, organising a Paul Kelly concert in Charleville to raise funds for the RFDS and Cancer Council. The concert was such a success, Paul and I teamed up again for a second concert in ‘99. Since then, I’ve put together countless charters to race meetings, agricultural shows, and music events, under the ‘Sheehan Events’ banner. The trips, mostly on board an Alliance Airlines charter, have given groups of city slickers a taste of the outback – with a difference. I’ve linked the city with the likes of Roma, Ilfracombe, Charleville, Longreach, Winton, St George, and Dirranbandi.

A highlight was the ‘Dinner Under the Stars’, which saw 1200 people, including 90 Olympians, dine on the tarmac at Longreach Airport. The one-of-a-kind event launched the fundraising effort to send Queensland’s Olympians to the 2004 Athens Games.

My partnership with Paul Kelly was back for a concert in Longreach in 2015, to raise funds for drought-affected communities and again in 2018 in Dirranbandi for a local youth studies program. Then in 2020, I chartered Alliance Airlines flights to a race day on Kangaroo Island, with funds raised going to bushfire relief and recovery.

While Covid-19 restrictions temporarily put a hold on events, it’s given us plenty of time to prepare for what’s to come.
