A look back at the moments that shaped Sheehan Events.
1998 - Where It All Began
I dipped my toes into the world of events by organising a Paul Kelly concert in Charleville to raise funds for the RFDS and QLD Cancer Council. It was such a success that we teamed up again soon after — and Sheehan Events was born.
2003 - Dinner Under The Stars
A highlight came with our Olympians’ “Dinner Under the Stars”, where 1,200 guests — including 80 Olympians — dined on the Longreach Airport tarmac. The event helped raise funds to send Queensland athletes to the 2004 Athens Games.
2015 - The Longreach Encore
Reuniting with Paul Kelly in Longreach, we hosted another concert to support drought-affected communities. The energy, generosity, and outback spirit were unforgettable.
2018 – Flying for a Cause
We chartered Alliance Airlines flights to race meetings and regional events, helping connect communities across Western Queensland — from Roma to Birdsville — with the perfect mix of adventure and hospitality. We hosted The Paul Kelly and Friends Concert in Dirranbandi. 5000 attended, raising money for The Rural Youth Studies Program.
2020 – Supporting Bushfire Relief
In the wake of the devastating bushfires, we organised a special Alliance Airlines charter to a race day on Kangaroo Island, raising $67k for bushfire recovery and community support.
Today – Looking Ahead
After more than 25 years of unforgettable experiences, we’re still bringing people together through unique outback adventures. Every Sheehan Event is designed to celebrate the spirit of regional Australia — with the same passion that started it all.
